Interesting Facts
A south German style of wheat beer (weissbier) made with a typical ratio of two thirds
wheat mats and one third barley malts. This beer style display unique flavors because of
a special yeast used in fermentation. These "weizen" yeasts are unlike those used in
making lagers or regular ales because they accentuate clove and fruity flavors
Little hop bitterness, and an average level of alcohol. The "Hefe" prefix means "with yeast",
hence the beers unfiltered and cloudy appearance.
The CEO of Flying Dog brewery, Eric Warner, literally wrote the book on this beer style.
